The Crest
The Crest was designed to be enamelled in colour, in order to favour the chromatic prominence of the main graphic elements.
Purpose: Saving Human Lives Around the World, in fact, one can see in the foreground the stylised figures of a Man, a Ship, and an Airplane in the Centre of the Earth representing the three types of rescue (Land, Sea, and Sky) carried out by the Satellite Station with the help of orbiting satellites and their relative names COSPAS (Russian Satellites) and SARSAT (American Satellites).
Symbols: in the fund, Civil Defence and Coast Guard the entities that with an agreement cooperate continuously and made possible the realisation and activation of the Satellite Station by including Italy in a worldwide Satellite Search and Rescue System.
Lastly, the inscriptions indicating the name of the satellite station in clear and telegraphic form, all enclosed in an oval with laurel leaves surmounted by a Turreted Crown, should be highlighted.
